For my first “Lunch with Locals” post I called Lori Rawlings and asked her to join me at Liam’s. I met Lori through work several months ago and right away I liked her as a friend also. She is an all around nice person who is fun to hang out with. You probably know her already, but here is an introduction for those of you who don’t.
Lori is a loan officer at Thomas County Federal. She says, “I love the company I work for and I am motivated to represent my company with the best of my ability. Customer service means a lot to me. Who doesn’t love great customer service?”
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE great customer service. My husband and I have personally used Lori’s services, and she was great to work with. She kept us updated and made the process easy. We even received a handwritten thank you note from Lori afterwards. Because my husband was in the Air Force for 20 years before we moved home and settled here we have bought quite a few houses and that is the first thank you we have ever received from a loan officer. Lori means it when she says customer service means a lot to her.

Lori has been married to her husband (Stephen Rawlings) for 22 years, and they have three children – ages 12, 16, and 17. She spends most of her time in the dance studio and on the baseball field with her daughter and sons. Lori also enjoys running and has done a marathon and several half marathons. I believe that if someone can run a marathon they can do anything.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be? Sushi or Thai food
At what age did you become an adult? I’m not sure I have reached that age yet.
What is your favorite sport to watch? I love watching college football with my husband. We get nothing done on Saturdays during the fall! I like watching any team, but I am an Ohio State Buckeye fan.
What is the best part about waking up in the morning? That’s easy, coffee!
What is your favorite vacation? My husband’s mother took our family and my husband’s brother’s family rafting down the Rogue River in Oregon. We camped out at night and rafted during the day. It was a great memory for all of us.
What do you miss most about being a kid? Running is the woods all day and jumping creeks.
What is the most daring thing you have ever done? The free fall ride at Wild Adventures
What is one thing you will never do again? The free fall ride at Wild Adventures!

And if you are wondering what we had for lunch…I have to tell you because it was so delicious. We both had the daily pasta special which had kale pesto and Calabrian peppers. If Rhonda had a wall for clean plate club members I would be on it!
