Chaltsy and Monty: Moultrie, GA
Sunday, December 28, 2008 | Weddings

Chaltsy Akridge and Monty Carlton had a beautiful Christmas wedding in the small town of Moultrie, Georgia.  They were married at Trinity Baptist Church.

When we arrived the girls were getting ready, and a friend had prepared a beautiful table of food and drinks for them to enjoy.

I have to admit that eyelash curlers scare me to death, but I like this shot of Chaltsy as she was finishing her makeup.

The lace detail on her dress was gorgeous.

The bridesmaids had the prettiest dresses, and they were so unusual.  They come in one size and can be worn something like thirty different ways.  My photographer friend Abby Mims was a master at perfecting different creations with the dresses!  I know it was hard for Abby to not be a photographer for the day since she was a bridesmaid, and I am so thankful that she referred Chaltsy to me.  It was a beautiful day, and it was a pleasure to be a part of it.

Chaltsy made a last minute decision to make her dress strapless - good call!  :)

She looked stunning...

A few details...

There were a lot of beautiful details throughout the day that held special meanings.

Chaltsy's mother was so cute.  Chalsty would tell her not to cry, and she would say, "But when can I cry?"  I think it was a close call here!  :)

A quick touch up before heading out to see Monty...

As always, I love it when the couple decides to see each other before the wedding. You just don't get the same emotion after the wedding, and it allows them to be able to spend some quiet time together.

Don't they look great?

The bridesmaids were awesome!
(And check out a few of the different ways to wear the same dress.)

Chaltsy and Monty make it official...

The reception was held at Westfork Farm, and everything was beautiful.  The wooded area surrounding the barn was lit by jars of candles hanging from tree branches.

When Chaltsy and Monty arrived we took a minute to get a shot of them by this woodpile on the side of the barn.

They were so creative with all of the details.  On one side of the barn by the outdoor fireplace they had everything set up for s'mores.  It just doesn't get much better than that!

In addition to the fabulous spread of food, they had lots of southern and fall themed treats.

Crunchy apple slices and a caramel fountain...yum.

There were even boiled peanuts.

Beside a boat loaded down with ice and beer were these cute Christmas koozies...

Rather than just having a wedding cake, they had a dessert table.  The table featured a red velvet cupcake stand and lots of other delicious desserts for their guests to enjoy.  It was hard to resist this banana pudding...

The barn was such a neat place for a reception!  I had to climb the stairs for a moose's eye view!

Thanks Chaltsy and Monty for a wonderful evening!

Grace Margaret
Friday, December 26, 2008 | Children

Grace Margaret is the youngest of four children - and the only girl.  Last week I stopped by to get a few images of her just doing the things that she normally does.

She has a super cute room where she sometimes reads on her bed.

She is also quite the artist and likes to draw.

Next we went outside where Grace Margaret showed off her bike riding skills.  I told her about the time I busted my front tooth out when I was five and learning to ride my bike on that very same sidewalk.

She jumped rope...

and played on the horse and the swing...

Grace Margaret will make an appearance on my new website when it launches soon - so be on the lookout!

Family Christmas at the River
Tuesday, December 23, 2008 | Random

Last weekend we went to the river for our family get together.  There is no internet there (just a slight connection if you sit on the porch and hold your phone at just the right angle) so needless to say it is very relaxing.

Even the Grinch had a smile on his face...

My cousin Jessica worked it for a mini photo session...

Then Alex and Mama came outside to see what we were up to.

My brother Sam and his wife Alex...

We hopped in the canoes and paddled down the river.  The weather was just right, and we didn't even see an alligator - although we did see a suspicious bubble appear on the surface of the water once.

My cousin Price has a cute little baby named Cason.  My granny is a little enamored with him for some reason.  Okay...so we all were.  He is just too cute and sweet.

Cason and his mama...

Cason and his mama and daddy...

And last but not least, Cason with his great aunt Dara (my mama).

I'll be back after Christmas with...

1. Christmas photos
2. Images from Chaltsy and Monty's fabulous wedding
3. Photos of Grace Margaret
4. Photos of Will

and...lots of great surprises and special things for my loyal blog readers.  You will not want to miss them so watch for them when my new website launches in the new year!

Family Portrait Session: Florida
Friday, December 19, 2008 | Families

Earlier this week I drove about an hour or so down to Florida for a session with the Perfect Family.  Okay, so obviously that isn't their real name - but they are pretty perfect.  I knew Todd, but it was my first time meeting the rest of the crew.

Their family goes all out for the holidays with beautiful decorating...

Lyndsey just recently began piano lessons, but she is a natural because you would think she has been taking for a long time.

Hailey doesn't play the piano - she plays the radio like her dad.  :)

Both Lyndsey and Hailey are amazing girls!

They sure do love their parents!

A few family shots out on the dock...

Todd and Krista were high school sweethearts!

Krista is so pretty and sweet too.  (I told you they were perfect.)

We took a few more family shots before I left...

And they are lucky that they still have Rusty.  He is so cute that I wanted to bring him home with me!

It was fun hanging out with all of you - I will see you soon in Orlando!

Amy Clifton: These ARE "perfect." I love the series on the dock, especially the family laughing together. Love the shot of the older daughter in front of the stone wall and the younger one on the steps--those are beautiful. Did you get some new lenses? Looks like a 1.4? (12/20/08, 08:12)
