Yesterday I drove down to Jacksonville to get some images for R3 Global. The work is such a departure from what I normally do, but I always love being around everyone at R3.
I started the day by meeting Aaron from Pearl Design Studios at the R3 Global office. Pearl Design Studios designs a magazine, Treasure Chest Quarterly, for R3 Global.
We got some shots of the staff - here are just a couple...
And all I'm going to say about this one is that this is the 2nd shot I got of Mark! lol
Then we went over to R3 Global's print shop to get some production images.
Then it was time to go to Brig and Lita's house to photograph some of their cars and trucks that Brig wanted to use on a poster.
Check out this license plate on Brig's big truck.
Is this truck huge or what?
Fortunately Brig is super busy with his businesses or else he might start giving me a run for my money in the photography industry. :)
I love this shot of Brig's lamborghini in one of the rims on the truck.
Imagine how healthy you would be if you drank the contents of this big Monavie bottle!
Brig and Lita just got a new smart car - all decked out in Monavie of course.
Here they are with Paul...
As I mentioned the last time I posted shots from their house, I can't help lovin' the lamborghini since I am a child of the 80s. Remember Cannonball Run? :)
This doesn't really excite me - but I'm pretty sure the guys out there will like this...
I like this image of Brig and Lita...
This is another fave...
I wasn't kidding about Brig giving me a run for my money. He was even kicking me off the ladder to get the good shots! lol
Brig and Lita with some of their Monavie vehicles...(yes - believe it or not - they have more!)
Brig and Lita with the R3 Global logo in the background...
Brig and Lita enjoying a healthy snack as they geared up for a tough game of tennis...
Lita was tough "on the court" and I think she took Paul out!
Brig and Lita have a beautiful pool and outdoor kitchen area...
I thought I liked my office set up - with my nice monitor and Fox news playing out over my XM radio through my computer. But check out Brig's spread. Of course he doesn't one up me - but three ups me with all of his monitors - including his Fox news coverage on one of them. I think I'm going to have to head to Best Buy and get a few more monitors today. :)
I ended the day by stopping back by the R3 Global office to get a shot of Rich - the new R3 Global General Manager who keeps everyone in line - which is probably no easy task! :) kidding of course!
Everyone at R3 Global rocks - they are the most fun, positive, upbeat people around - gotta love that!
I am not in the Monavie business because I am too busy with photography and another business I am getting off the ground (which I can't wait to share with you soon) - but shoot me an email if you are interested in the Monavie business and would like me to hook you up with one of the fabulous R3 Global team members.

Carter Family: Christmas Photos
|
|
Yesterday I photographed the Carter family. I have to say that they were perfect and made the session way too easy!
Seriously...they just fell into place effortlessly.
I think this is my favorite family portrait...
Even Buddy - their super cute dog - cooperated!
Amy and Doug...
Mary Alex and Davis:
Sweet...
Fun...
Doug and Davis...
Davis is such a cutie...
Check out his new motocross bike...
Mary Alex is so pretty - I love her eyes!
Playing the piano quickly before heading out to see HSM3...
And just for fun - I wanted to show off two new Christmas card designs. Amy and Doug actually have other plans for cards so these designs are up for grabs. (I only use a design once so you don't have to worry about someone else having the same card.)
FIRST CARD DESIGN...

(It seems a little to be hearing Christmas music, but the holidays will be here before we know it. Since this was a session for Christmas images - I decided to use Christmas music for their slideshow so they can share it with friends and family during the holidays.)

Kasie and Jim: Grapevine, Texas
|
|
Last weekend I traveled to Texas to photograph Kasie and Jim's wedding. I did not meet them until the wedding day, but I knew they would be lots of fun after chatting with Kasie by email over several months.
The day started when I met Kasie at the Gaylord Texan Resort. The resort is amazing, and Kasie was in the presidential suite which was fabulous and definitely Texas size!
The suite was filled with hairstylists, a makeup artist, and even a massage therapist to cater to Kasie's friends and family.
While everyone was getting ready, the cousins took a bath. What is cuter than three babies in a tub?
Darren was working it for the camera all day!
Kasie's dress was gorgeous!
This post is going to be filled with shoes...yes shoes! These cute silver shoes belong to Kasie. We've come a long way from the days when brides and bridesmaids would get dyeable shoes! Why did we ever do that??
We had a mini session with Kasie, and she looked fantastic!
Kasie and Jim didn't see each other before the ceremony - but they did want an image of them holding hands. So close...
After the mini session it was time to go to Delaney Vineyards where the ceremony and reception were held. Although their main vineyard is located elsewhere, the Grapevine facility contains 10 lush acres of Cynthiana grapes. The Cynthiana grape remains the best southern-bred hybrid vine to grow in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for a number of reasons. It thrives in the hard clay soil, or "red rock," found in the area. It also responds well to high humidity and hot summers.
Notice the names of the roads - those are real street signs!
Jim and the guys looked great - and rocked their awesome Ed Hardy shoes.
Jim, the handsome groom...
I couldn't reist a quick shot of Kasie with a wine barrel in the background...
The bridesmaids were gorgeous and fun...
...and yes! They had great shoes too. :)
Before we knew it - it was time for the ceremony. The light was so pretty as Kasie was walking inside for the ceremony.
London and Derick were pros at being the flower girl and ring bearer!
The ceremony was held inside the facility which provides an old world atmosphere with its 40-foot vaulted ceiling and brick walls that are lined with oak wine barrels.
One last shoe shot...
While the guests enjoyed cocktails outside, Kasie and Jim had time for a few photos...
Rather than have a sparkler exit at the end of the evening - Kasie and Jim opted to have the guests line up to create a sparkler "entrance" as they moved inside for dinner. I thought it was a great idea. I won't lie - it's always a little scary standing in the middle of a bunch of (usually intoxicated) people with sticks of fire at the end of the night! :D
While everyone was enjoying cocktails outside, the staff transformed the ceremony space so everyone could enjoy dinner there as well.
The floral arrangements and details were beautiful. Everything was black and white - and filled with butterflies and dripping in crystals.
The first dance...
Jim's grandmother was so cute and wasted no time getting out on the dance floor!
I thought their topsy turvy cake was really cute.
Kasie and Jim - I hope you are having a fabulous time in Belize. I must admit that I am slightly jealous since it is cold and rainy here! Be sure to have a Belikin for me! :)

State Fair of Texas
Wednesday, October 22, 2008 | Random
|
|
Last week I was in Dallas to photograph Kasie and Jim's wedding, so I took advantage of a free day and spent the morning at the State Fair of Texas.
It was icy cold and windy, but I had a great time wandering around checking everything out. Do you remember how EXCITING the games were when you were little?
They definitely do things bigger in Texas - check out Big Tex...
Let me tell you - they fry everything at the State Fair of Texas. You can see the menu and food descriptions here, but I will list a few that caught my attention:
-Fernie's All American Fried Grill Cheese
-Texas Fried Jelly Belly Beans
-Deep Fried S'mores
-Fried Pop Rocks Fundae Blast
-Fried Cake on a Stick
And even...
Which one did I try? I couldn't resist the Fried Banana Split. It was more delicious than you can even imagine. My only regret is that I ordered the "mini" instead of the large!
Want to know what a fried banana split is like? Here is the description:
A mixture of banana and honey peanut butter is rolled in balls, battered and deep-fried and topped with assorted, delicious fixings, including powdered sugar, caramel and chocolate syrups, chopped peanuts, whipped cream and banana split flavored ice cream bites then fittingly crowned with the traditional cherry.
Yum.
There were all kinds of interesting things to see and learn in the exhibition halls. I had no idea that people still clogged.
I even saw Elsie the Cow...
Many people are suprised to learn that Texas is also big wine country!
I only tried one tiny sample, and I couldn't finish it. It wasn't good, but I don't think it was even Texas wine. Not so sure why it was there!
You can't have a Texas without having cowboy hats...
A little sample of colorful texture that I spotted...
The Midway...
More hats...
I loved cotton candy when I was little, but the though of eating it now makes me cringe...ughh...too much sticky sugar.
A colorful ride...
I resisted the temptation to see the two headed snake! :D
Once (when we lived in Charleston) I had to get a rental car while my car was being repaired. I absent mindedly jumped in the car - and went straight to Target. As I was walking out in the parking lot after shopping I realized that I had not paid ANY attention to what kind of car they had given me. I had NO idea what kind of car I had gotten - much less what color! Needless to say - it took me quite a while to find it!
I was glad to see the license plate on my rental car in Texas almost spelled my name! How helpful is that?? :D
Check back soon for Kasie and Jim's wedding photos!
Oh...I would have gone to Southfork Ranch if time had permitted. Does anyone remember Who shot J.R.???

Yesterday I went to Tallahassee to meet Mariah and Zack. I met them (and parents Melanie and Chris) at Goodwood Museum & Gardens which is a beautiful place with a fascinating history.
After touring the grounds and hearing about the great wedding Mariah and Zack have planned we took a few minutes for a mini photo session. I love that these two are laid back and easy going!
Mariah and Zack are so comfortable together...
They met in college at The University of Florida (much to my surprise since Ashley grew up in Tallahasee). I won't hold that against them though since they were so awesome. lol
The grounds at Goodwood are covered in huge oak trees dripping with spanish moss.
A couple of warmed up black and white conversions...
Peeking through the trees...
Under the arbor...
A few traditional shots...
It was great meeting all of you!
