|
I always love it when my clients are featured in great publications, so I was thrilled to have Daisy and Ben's wedding at I'On Creek Club featured in Charleston Weddings Magazine.
Daisy and Ben planned a fabulous destination wedding in Charleston last year, and with the help of Thuy from Jade Water Designs, everything looked fabulous. So...be sure to pick up a copy of the magazine and check them out!
Here is a preview of what you will see inside their four page spread...
Congrats Daisy and Ben!

Friday morning I woke up bright and early (actually it was quite dark and early) to go to Lake City, FL to photograph a jet for Monavie. The airport was not open when I got there - and the sun was just beginning to rise.
I didn't want to miss the pretty light, so I pulled my car up to the fence and climbed on top of the roof of my car and began shooting. It didn't take long for a police car to ride by to check me out! I kept right on shooting and I guess they figured out that I was harmless.
After the policemen did a loop around the airport I stopped them on their way out and pleaded with them to let me in before I lost all the "good light!" Much to my surpise they obliged. I don't usually get much symapathy from policemen, but I guess that would be because I am usually speeding somewhere!
Just a short while later Todd (from R3 Global) arrived in the shiny new 2009 Mercedes so we got some shots of it while we waited for Jay (the pilot) to arrive.
Apparently Monavie has a new juice out called Pulse. Todd had a bottle so we put all of the bottles together and got a few shots of them in front of the car.
And finally Jay arrived. He claimed his truck wouldn't start or something, but I think he must have been having a little trouble with the snooze alarm. lol
As expected, the inside of the jet was fabulous.
I couldn't resist capturing all of the details...even the interior walls were covered in pretty material.
And of course there was juice aboard...
All of those buttons and switches in the cockpit sure do look complicated, huh?
Next Jay pulled the other plane out of the hangar and we got a few shots of it.
...and one with the mercedes in the foreground.
I tried to talk Todd and Jay into taking off to Miami for a shopping trip, but they weren't having it. hmmph. Boys!
Whenever I make these posts, people always ask me about Monavie. Although I don't sell it I am happy to refer you to some of the fabulous people that do. If you are interested in learning more simply contact R3Global!

Courtney and Paul
Thursday, September 25, 2008 | Couples
|
|
I recently traveled to Milledgeville to meet up with Courtney and Paul. They will be married this fall in Asheville, North Carolina.
Courtney and Paul like cooking and they love the Food Network. So...I did all kinds of investigating and attempted all sorts of things to arrange a mini cooking class...but everything kept falling through.
My wonderful mama was with me on the trip (we were on our way to Atlanta) so she happily agreed to help out. Her fabulous friend friend Laura was sweet enough to let us use her house.
It all started with the aprons...
The aprons were a little cheesy, but I happened to have some insider knowledge and led me to believe that Paul must be a pretty good sport! And afterall - I didn't want to start off by ruining their clothes.
With yummy ingredients like unsweetened coconut milk and turbinado sugar, my mama began the short cooking demonstration.
Paul wasted no time slicing into the pineapple...
After dipping the pineapple slices in coconut milk and a cinnamon sugar mixture they were placed on the grill. yummmm....
It was a hot day so we left my mama to finish up the grilling while we walked around to get a few images of Courtney and Paul. I added a little texture to this one.
A quick traditional shot...
Love these...
They will probably kill me for this one but it cracks me up...
They are so cute together.
And then the pineapple was ready...
So the pineapple (and the grilled cherries) went on top of some ice cream and it was time to dig in!
I am so glad that we were finally able to get together! I'm looking forward to your wedding - hopefully we will still have a few fall leaves!
Here is a link to the Grilled Coconut Pineapple recipe in case you would like to try it out.

Shirlene and Brian: Dana Point, California Beach Session
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 | Couples
|
|
As I mentioned earlier, I am posting Shirlene and Brian's images a little backwards. Click here if you are looking for their wedding photos.
A few days before the wedding we met up with Shirlene and Brian at Dana Point for a short beach session. We enjoyed meeting both of them and Shirlene's mother.
The first two iamges we got as they were walking out to the beach are some of my favorites. I love the feel these have.
Of course the shoes didn't last long! :)
Shirlene and Brian have a lot of fun together...
I had to get a little flare in...
Even those these shots are a little cliche, I really like them. I am never able to do that in Georgia or South Carolina because the sand is different and footprints generally don't show up well.
Loved the rocks...
Shirlene and Brian are expert jumpers (lol) and always do a jumping shot! So of course we had to include one at the beach session. I have learned from Shirlene's facebook page that some of her jumps even have names! :D
One traditional shot before we parted ways in the parking lot...
Once again - it was great fun meeting the two of you!

Shirlene and Brian: Tustin Ranch Golf Club: Tusin, California
|
|
I'm posting photos of Shirlene and Brian a little backwards. They just returned home after a fun two week honeymoon, so I want to give them access to their wedding images right away. They have already had a sneak peek at their beach session that took place before the wedding, so I will post those Wednesday.
We started the day at the Christopher Perry Salon where Shirlene and her bridesmaids were having their hair and makeup done.
Shirlene lives in Boston but chose to be married in California where she lived when she was growing up. She was referred to me by another awesome bride whose wedding I photographed in Belize.
The ceremony was held at Tustin Ranch Golf Club - a beautiful golf course that is flanked by lots of gorgeous, tall palm trees.
Shirlene's beaded dress was so pretty...
...and her shoes were fabulous.
Shirlene and Brian are one of the most thoughtful and sweet couples I have ever met. Once again - I am so lucky to have the BEST clients.
They chose to see each other before the ceremony. It was a very bright day so we found a cool, shady spot for them to spend some time together.
Their wedding colors were brilliantly bold!
The ceremony was held just before sunset wtih a view of the golf course, and they were surrounded by friends and family who were so excited to be there celebrating with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Chi...
After the ceremony we got a few shots of the wedding party which was such a good lookin' and fun group!
Then we tried to squeeze in as many photos of Shirlene and Brian as we could as the sun sunk into the horizon.
The reception was fun and full of games and laughter...
The first dance -
The cake cutting -
And of course I have to include at least one fun dance shot!
Thank you so much for your hospitality - we enjoyed being a part of your beautiful day!
