Betsy and Jon Part II: Beaufort, SC
Tuesday, June 30, 2009 | Weddings

Last week I posted the images from Betsy and Jon's wedding day, and today I am going to post the images of Betsy and Jon together.  If you missed last week's post click here to see it.

Betsy and Jon decided to see each other before the ceremony.  It was a HOT day with the sun shining brightly overhead (which makes for a quick meltdown) so we didn't have long.

Jon met out by the marsh...what a beautiful view!

Photographing people under harsh light can be a big challenge, but I love the way these turned out.  Betsy and Jon maganged to look great even with the sun bearing down on them.

A few more quick shots before leaving the marsh...

Then it was time to head back to air conditioning.  We stopped along the way for a couple of photos...

Again, if you missed the wedding day photos click here to see them.

Betsy and Jon: Beaufort, SC
Wednesday, June 24, 2009 | Weddings

Betsy and Jon live in Utah (soon to be Georgia) but traveled to Beaufort for their destination wedding.   Beaufort is located in the heart of the lowcountry and is renowned for its scenic location and for maintaining a historic character through its impressive antebellum architecture.

Their wedding was held at the beautiful Rhett House Inn.

Beautiful flowers were in bloom throughout the garden...

Ring shots are so much fun to do...

As you can see from her super cute shoes, Betsy used a lot of blue in her wedding - accented with bright, fun colors.

Don't hate her because she's beautiful.  For all my ATL area friends, Betsy is a dermatologist and is moving to the Atlanta area so email me if you want her info.  She will be working in the office with a great esthetician who did a great job with her makeup.  Seriously...both of them had flawless skin.

A little celebrating before the ceremony...

Getting ready to go see Jon...

Betsy and Jon saw each other before the ceremony - click here to see those photos.

What is more southern and beautiful than hydrangeas?  My favorite flower!

Everyone gathered on the porch as they waited for the ceremony to begin.

I caught Jack (a.k.a. the ring bearer) peering out of the window...I think he was trying to scheme up a last minute escape plan!  Jack is 100% boy so be sure to check out his expression in the slideshow (to be posted next week) as he walks down the aisle!

The sweet bridesmaids...

Here comes the bride...

I swear I think flip flops are the best things ever.

Betsy and Jon had lots of friends and family join them for the ceremony in the garden beside the Rhett House.

After the ceremony Betsy and Jon ran away.  Kidding of course.  Their ceremony was too much fun to miss.

Now let me tell you - it was a H.O.T. day in Beaufort.  The images of Jack below pretty much sum it up.  :D  Poor little guy.

The reception was held under tents on the back lawn, and everything looked great.

I love their first dance photos...

You have to love people who know how to give a good, short speech/toast!

The cake was so pretty.  If you look closely you can see their names worked into the design.

And of course there was fun dancing going on...

This lady was so much fun - she was totally breakin' it down on the dance floor.

It was fun Betsy and Jon!  :)

Don't forget to check check out the photos of Betsy and Jon together..

Stephen and Kristen: Part II
Monday, June 15, 2009 | Weddings

Last week I posted Part I of Stephen and Kristen's fabulous Charleston wedding at the Rice Mill Building. If you missed that post you can see it here.

I love being able to dedicate a post to images of the bride and groom.  After Kristen slipped into her dress we went outside for a few quick photos before going to meet Stephen.

Kristen looks like an actress...but I can't think of who it is.  Anyone know who I'm talking about?

And of course - a few of Stephen...

Stephen and Kristen met out on the dock to spend a little time together before the ceremony.

Stephen and Kristen are the sweetest, most laid back couple.  I know I say that all the time - but I promise it's true.  I have the BEST clients in the world.

Kristen wanted to re-create an image that she had seen on my blog from a wedding I photographed last year, so the next three images are my attempt at giving them a similar photo with their own twist...

We were running out of time, but the interior of the building was so pretty that we had to at least get a few shots in the lobby.

After the ceremony we got a few more shots out on the dock - the light soft and pretty.

Thanks again Stephen and Kristen for being so great.

Stephen and Kristen
Friday, June 12, 2009 | Weddings

Last week I traveled to Charleston to photograph Stephen and Kristen's beautiful wedding.  Stephen is a talented Charleston photographer so it was quite an honor to shoot his wedding.

Venue: Rice Mill Building
Music: Pro Wedding Entertainment
Outdoor Candle Lighting: Out of Hand
Flowers: (Info coming soon...)
Cake: Ashley Bakery
Cookies: (Info coming soon...)
Catering: Good Food Catering

Maybe it's because I am addicted to china and dinnerware in general, but I was delighted to learn that Stephen and Kristen's wedding planning all started with a plate!  I love their pattern (Chirp by Lenox) and think it proved to be a great source of inspiration.

Take a close look at the plate - you won't believe your eyes when you see their cake a little later in the post!

Stephen and Kristen's wedding and reception were held at the fabulous, waterfront Rice Mill Building.  Built in 1861 and on the National Register of Historic Places, it’s the only of Charleston’s three antebellum rice mills that still stands.

Candles hanging from big oak trees are such a pretty way to welcome guests...

Stephen and Kristen's colors were brown, turquoise, and orange - with birds interspersed throughout.  They did a great job with the details.  I don't know if they planned it this way - but I loved that the colors blended with their surroundings - the browns of the historic building and the oak trees, the blue water, and the orange sunset.

These adorable bird cookies were also delicious!

Check out Kristen's beautiful dress...

Kristen was stylish and comfortable with her cute red shoes.

The rings...

Someone forgot to tell Stephen that photographers are supposed to be uncomfortable on the other side of the camera.  He and his groomsmen were totally workin' it.

Of course Stephen and Kristen spent some time together before the ceremony and we got some great photos...click here to see them.

Then it was time for the ceremony to begin...what a location!

Making it official...

It seems there is always at least one photo that makes me laugh.  This shot of Travis cracked me up.  The waiter presented Travis with a selection of drinks to choose from, and his expression was priceless!

A sunset bouquet shot...

A little reception action...

(Can you believe what a great job Ashley Bakery did with the cake?}

Stephen and Kristen even had a pretty, outdoor lounge set up for their guests.

The dance floor got busy fast...

Beautiful scenery at the end of the night...

And don't forget to check out the photos of Kristen and Stephen together.
