It seems like just yesterday that I was photographing two year old Rylee. Time flies though, and I recently went out to the country to photograph THREE year old Rilee!
Rilee was a little pouty at first which was pretty cute!
Rilee's new doll...
I will never know why children love to torment their parents when it is time for photos! :) The problem is always solved by simply sending the parents off to do something else. It's like that with ALL parents. They are all tortured by their children on photo day! ha
Rylee soon perked up and even started to giggle at my silliness.
Rylee has the coolest playhouse. Before I knew it she was putting on her safety mask, pulling out her tools, and getting to work on a building project.
Whew. Watching Rylee work made me hungry, and she was kind enough to make a light lunch for me.
Is this the coziest playhouse or what? I love all the colorful flowers.
v
Have you ever seen a cuter little girl??
One of the best things about spring has to be flip flops!
Next we walked down to the dirt road. Rylee and I raced a little bit, and I think she is going to be a track star. This girl can RUN!
A few more...
Rylee's friends Arianna and Alanna came over to play next. Check back next week to see those photos!
(Photos will be online by Monday.)

Last week I shared Alisa and Jarrod's wedding day photos with you. If you missed the post, follow the link to see the images from their beautiful ceremony at Daniel Island Club.
Today, I am happy to share the photos of Alisa and Jarrod. They are floating around in the Virgin Islands right now - hopefully enjoying great weather!
Alisa looking gorgeous before we went outside...
As almost all of my clients do, Alisa and Jarrod saw each other before the ceremony. We arranged for them to meet out on the dock over the marsh. It is always nice when couples do this because they get to spend quiet time together that they don't usually get otherwise.
It was a beautiful day, but too bright for a lot of outdoor photos so we went inside and found a few spots...
Jarrod played is awesome at chopsticks. ha
Because Alisa had a bridal session prior to the wedding and already had photos of herself, I was sure to get a few photos of Jarrod on the wedding day.
A couple of quick shots after the ceremony...
And one traditional shot...
Thank you Alisa and Jarrod for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. I wish you lots of happiness.

Alisa and Jarrod: Daniel Island
|
|
As many of you know, I am cutting back on the number of weddings that I shoot. It is really hard to do because I love it so much. But...because I am cutting back on the number...I am happy to report that I will be able to share more images with you from each wedding!
Today I am going to post the wedding day images - but you will have to check back Monday to see all of the photos of the bride and groom together.
It has been a long time since I first met Alisa and Jarrod and talked to them about their wedding. The path leading up to their wedding day had some unexpected turns which caused them to change their fall '08 wedding to a spring '09 wedding. When the day finally rolled around it was certainly a joyous one - it could not have been more perfect.
If you live in the southeast you know we have had some CRAZY rainy and cold weather, but it all cleared up and we were blessed with a warm, sunny spring day with beautiful blue skies at the Daniel Island Club.
My brides have the best taste and always seem to choose exactly the right dress.
Pretty, classic shoes...
Beautiful, sparkly rings...
I really liked Alisa and Jarrod from the moment I met them but seriously...what's not to love about a fun bride who orders up a grilled cheese and fries (my fave comfort food) before she slips into her wedding dress?
This was Alisa's "something old" from her grandmother...
I love this shot...
I love the excitement here...
Now of course Alisa and Jarrod saw each other before the ceremony, but you will have to wait until Monday to see those photos!
Their ceremony took place on the back lawn of the club overlooking the marsh. Check out those blue skies!
A special treat was hearing the Plantation Singers perform before the wedding.
The girls who did the flowers were super sweet and fabulous. Check them out at Dahlia Designs
Jarrod is just as awesome as Alisa...
Making it official...
I'm so glad I caught this...
Happiness...
Signing on the dotted line...
While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour we took a few more photos of Alisa and Jarrod, but they were quickly able to join in the fun.
Everything was arranged beautifully for dinner...
The dances...
I like this sweet dance shot...
Now let me tell you - I wasn't so sure that this crowd was going to get up and moving on the dance floor. The floor was a little empty at first. But not only did they get out on the dance floor in a big rush - they tore it up!
I think these are some of my most fun dance shots EVER. They danced so much that I would be surprised if there were anything left of the dance floor by the end of the night. What a FUN group!
Don't forget to check back Monday to the photos of Alisa and Jarrod together. They are great, and I can't wait to share them with you.
***EDITED***
The photos of Alisa and Jarrod are posted now, so check them out here.

Spring...Finally?
Monday, April 20, 2009 | Random

|
After much teasing - I think spring is finally here to stay awhile! I just returned from a perfect wedding in Charleston and will have those images posted soon.
One of my favorite things about spring is planting herbs. Technically - I guess I should say one of my favorite things about spring is when my husband plants herbs since I'm guilty of not helping out with that part very much! :)
We have lots of things growing, and here are a few...
Dill...
Rosemary...
Parsley...
I have other fun things like peppermint and lemon balm, but my very favorite herb is basil. We make tons of pesto all summer long and I almost cry when we pull the basil out of the ground at the end of the season.
What is your favorite herb?

Easter Weekend
Tuesday, April 14, 2009 | Random

Rain, Rain, Go Away...
All of my portrait sessions over the last 2-3 weeks have been cancelled due to cold weather and/or rain. Stay tuned - I am hoping for better luck next week.
I am also heading to Charleston this weekend for a fabulous wedding, so I will definitely have more photography work up soon.
In the meantime...
We had a great Easter weekend. Friday night we went to my mama's house for the Great American Grown Up Easter Egg Hunt. ha Seriously...we really did hunt eggs.
All the couples were tied together so teamwork was mandatory. :) I happen to be married to a very competitive man, so I'm lucky to still have my arm attached to my body.
I can't believe I forgot to take my "real" camera with me - mama had everything looking so cute I wish I had more pics. I did get a few pictures with my camera phone and some that my mama sent me.
Beth and Cliff and Josie and Cooper ...
Josie and Cooper and Sam and Alex search the field - thank goodness we only found one snake during the hunt!
Thanks Mama and Randy for a fun night!
After church Easter Sunday we went out to Elizabeth's house and joined about 50 other people for lunch.
Amy and Jack hunting for eggs...
Brooks found the prize egg and is now $20 richer.
Our friend Lari makes the cutest Easter buckets...
I hope you enjoyed your Easter weekend. What did you do? |
