Baby Cole is Here!

We have great news - our sweet baby Cole is here! I finally got a moment to come post up a little birth announcement on here. We are totally smitten and spending every second we can with him. I won't be posting much over the next few weeks, but please keep checking back. We have lots of changes going on this summer and new announcements to come.

Kelli Hall: Graphic Designer

Kelli is an amazingly talented graphic designer. I first met her when I photographed her with her husband Matt on Sullivan's Island a few years ago. We later did a bridal session at Cypress Gardens. Even though we both got chiggers at the bridal shoot (ha), I loved how her photos turned out and you can see her on the opening page of my weddings website.
One of the cool things about my job is that every once in a while it works out that I can do a trade with someone. Kelli and I recently traded services. She designed a beautiful album cover design for me, and I photographed some of her designs for her.
Kelli is so talented. If you are in need of invitations, program design, etc, she may be able to help you out. I love her fresh, clean designs!

A Flash From the Past & Angie's Baby Shower

This weekend I was at my mama's house and found the photos in the collage below...a flashback from the 70s. The top two photos show my mama and her lifelong friend Barbara acting silly for the photographer (who just happened to be me when I was about three).
The photos on the bottom took place a few years later and show Barbara with Mama holding Angie (Barbara's daughter) and me holding Angie. Angie was just one week old.
Flash forward just a few years (well...maybe just a little more than a "few" years), and here is Angie at her baby shower that was held recently.
Our mothers are crazy excited about finally being grandparents for the first time. Angie also happens to be my cousin, and I think it's cool that we are both having little boys at the same time so they will be able to run around and play in the dirt together at family reunions. :)
Barbara loaded Angie up with all kinds of cute things monogrammed for baby Finn. She loaded me up with all kinds of sweet things for baby Cole as well. They boys are going to be so cute in all of the personalized things!
There were some wild and crazy ladies at the shower...a select few of them on the far right. :) ha

Baby Graham

These photos are not from a "real" session - just some photos I quickly snapped when I went to visit my friend Anna and baby Graham last week.
He was sleeping so sweetly and soundly that I really didn't want to move him around for posed photos. And besides - what is cuter than a sleeping two week old baby? :)

Cole Andrew Higgins: 29 Weeks and 2 days

A lot of you have probably seen these already on facebook, but I thought I would post them here too. Monday was a holiday, and Brian was off work. It was a cold, rainy day so we made a last minute decision to go have a 4D ultrasound done for fun.
I didn't really want to do one initially because these kinds of pics can look a little scary in my opinion, but I thought they would be neat to have. After doing it, I realized that they look a little different after you have seen the actual video because you realize what all the shadows, etc are.
Anyway...here is sweet little Cole at 29 weeks old...

I just want to look at him all day long. :)
I joked around on facebook that he gave us the Loser sign when we asked him how he liked my new low sugar/low carb diet. ha
Cute little feet (his legs are crossed at his ankles)...
Towards the end he would not move his hands from his face. Poor baby needs to realize that his mama is a photographer and he has to get used to a camera! lol
I love his little hands...
I'm hoping he can teach me some yoga moves. That is his foot by his face.

It looks like he has dark hair in the pics, but he really doesn't have any yet - it just looks that way because of shadows.
